CSGA Golf Clubs for CT Schools

The CSGA Announces Golf Clubs for CT Schools

Purpose:

The majority of students that play golf, whether often or occasionally, do not maintain an official USGA Handicap Index.  For this reason the Connecticut State Golf Association (CSGA) is taking the initiative to introduce and provide the USGA Handicap System to students, teachers and administrators of Connecticut schools by creating “golf clubs” for schools.

This will:

·        Make the game of golf more enjoyable by enabling players of differing abilities to compete on an equitable basis.

·        Expose the golfer to peer review and the requirement to post all scores played during an active season.

·        For golfers of superior ability, it will satisfy the USGA requirement that all players in USGA championships maintain a USGA Handicap Index.

·        Provide a fair Course Handicap for each player, regardless of ability, and adjust a player’s Handicap Index up or down as the player’s game changes.

A great opportunity to be part of the CT State Golf Association community!

Students, Teachers, Coaches, and Administrators may join one of our golf clubs and receive a USGA Handicap Index through eClubhouse and the CT State Golf Association.

Keeping communal bonds strong

Club news posted on the front page of the eClubhouse site allows you to stay up-to-date with fellow members. Learn who shot a hole-in-one, who played well in a local tournament, as well as items posted by GHIN® such as new features and enhancements to its many services.

Join an online discussion forum to exchange tips, opinions and personal news with fellow members.

eClubhouse even offers your club a convenient photo archive to feature club outings and members.

Track your growth

Golf is a numbers game, and your club site will help you crunch those numbers - especially when it comes to your own performance statistics. GHIN research shows that golfers who track their scores can measurably improve their game. With its powerful metrics engine eClubhouse can track a broad range of stats within a period of time or for a particular course, such as:

  • Average Score
  • Par Differential
  • Greens in Regulation
  • Average Scores on Par 3s, 4s and 5s
  • Average Drive and Longest Drive
  • As well as, critical measures of putts, fairways, sandies and penalties.
Track your own performance, and see for yourself how you can improve your game.
