Announces 2010 Junior Golf Scholarship Program Application

Lake of Isles
and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation announced today that
they are taking applications for the 2010 Junior Golf Scholarship
Program. Now in its
fifth year, the scholarship program is awarded to eight junior
golfers who are interested in playing golf at a competitive level.
The junior recipients will receive personalized instruction,
playing privileges and unlimited use of the practice facility.
“Lake
of Isles and the Tribe are very interested in supporting
the growth of the game among young people,” stated Archie Cart,
general manager,
Lake of Isles. “This is a great program for
juniors who are serious about the game of golf and playing it at a
very competitive level.
The program will give eight junior golfers an incredible
opportunity to develop stronger fundamentals through on-going
professional instruction, practice sessions at the Golf
Academy
and playing privileges on the North Course.”
The eight
scholarships are open to boys and girls between the ages of 10 and
17 years old. There is not a geographic restriction. Applicants
will be evaluated on character, integrity, passion, and their
potential for success at a highly competitive level. Applications

April 9, 2010.
Selected
applicants will have a skills test in mid-April and interviewed
the following week. Scholarship winners will be announced on May
6, 2010. The recipients will be eligible for program benefits from
May 16 through
September 30, 2010.
The
scholarship recipients will receive the following:

Weekly
practice and training sessions with a Lake of Isles Golf Academy
instructor.
Ø
Complimentary
“standby” playing privileges on
Lake
of Isles North Course
and reduced fees for accompanied adult guests.
Ø
Unlimited use
of the Lake of Isles practice facility.
Ø
Lake
of Isles
golf bag, polo shirt, wind shirt, cap and balls.
