108th  Connecticut Amateur Championship

Country Club of Waterbury           June 21-25, 2010

ELIGIBILITY

Amateur golfers:

·         Holding an active USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4 under the men’s USGA Handicap System.

·         Connecticut Residents must be a bona fide member of a CSGA member club

·         Non-residents of Connecticut must be a bona fide member of a Type 1 CSGA member club as defined by the USGA.

·         In agreement with General Tournament Policies.

Entry fee ($120).

COMPLETELY EXECUTED ENTRY MUST ARRIVE BY 3:00PM, May 26th, 2010

SCHEDULE

Sectional Qualifying - 18 Holes. For all except exempt entrants.   108th CT Amateur Exemptions

June 7 – Aspetuck Valley

June 8 – Tashua Knolls  

June 14 – Watertown

Total number qualifying from each site will be determined after entries close. 

Championship:  Country Club of Waterbury

108th CT Amateur Exemptions - To Register Choose 108th CT Amateur Exempt Players

Qualifying- 36 holes at stroke play to determine 32 qualifiers.  18 holes on both Monday, June 21, and Tuesday, June 22  All sectional and exempt   players must compete.  A tie for last spot shall be decided immediately following play by a hole-by-hole playoff on Tuesday, June 22.

Match Play - General numerical draw will be used.

Wednesday, June 23 - AM First round, 18 holes – PM Second round, 18 holes                                      

Thursday, June 24 -  AM Quarter-final round, 18 holes - PM  Semi-final round, 18 holes                          

Friday, June 25 - FINALS - 36 holes

In the event of a tied match, winner shall be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff.  

CADDIES & TRANSPORTATION

Players must walk at all times.  Player may carry own bag.  If  the host club has insufficient caddies, a contestant may provide their own caddie.  Clubs hosting events have the right to require the use of caddies attached to the clubs.  

PRIZES:   An awards presentation will be held immediately following the Championship. The Amateur Championship qualifying medalist will receive the Robert M. Grant medal.  Champion through Quarter-finalists will receive merchandise credit from CC of Waterbury.
