 Two Players Advance to 85^th U.S. Public Links Championship

June 14, 2010 – Thirty-six players began the day with hopes of qualifying for the 85^th U.S. Public Links Championship at Bryan Park Golf and Conference Center in Greensboro , North Carolina on July 12-17, 2010.  After thirty-six holes on the par 71 6550 yard Country Club of Woodbridge two players advanced to the Championship.

Max Adler from Norwalk , CT and Peter Williamson from Hanover , NH earned medalist honors after a two round total of two-under par 140.  Adler had the low round of the day in his afternoon round with an impressive 65 which included seven birdies and only one bogey.  After thirty-two holes Williamson was two-over par but began a three hole stretch that included two birdies and a hole-in-one on the seventeenth hole to finish his second round at two-under par 69.

Williamson’s hole-in-one on seventeen was not the only ace during the day.  During his first round, John Thomas from New Haven , CT scored a hole-in-one on the same hole with a nine iron.
