Natalie
Sheary Wins 12th Connecticut Women’s Open
June
2, 2010 – Natalie Sheary began the day with a six
shot lead and never looked back.
Her final round one under par 71 was more than
enough to earn her a victory in the 12th
Connecticut Women’s Open held at Wethersfield
Country Club in Wethersfield, CT.
Natalie,
who resides in West Hartford and is a member at
Wampanoag Country Club, finished the tournament with
an impressive total of six under par 138.
Her two round total tied her with Suzy Whaley
(2002) for the second lowest two round total in
Connecticut Women’s Open history.
She is the first amateur to win the event since
Liz Janangelo in 2005.
Earning
the $5,000 check for low professional was Jean
Bartholomew from the Creek Club in Locust Valley, NY.
Jean played both rounds in one over par 73 for
a two round total of 146.
2008 Connecticut Women’s Open Champion, Lynn
Valentine from Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm
Beach, FL was the second low professional.
Another past champion, Susan Ginter from
Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton, CT earned
herself another top five finish after finishing with a
two round total of 149.
The
CSGA would like to thank this year’s sponsor,
