Important Qualifier Information
Format: 18-hole stroke play qualifying. The number of spots available at each site is determined by the total number of players participating. Successful qualifiers will advance to the 33rd Connecticut Mid-Amateur at Madison Country Club on August 24-25, 2020.

Per the Mid-Amateur Championship alternate policy, any player with the next best score after the cut line will be placed on the alternate list. Alternates will be randomly ranked and may be placed into the starting field to fill any remaining spots necessary to build a full field or to replace an exempt or qualifying player that withdraws after qualifying has been completed.
A player may carry his own bag or employ a caddie. Players are responsible for any fee incurred for the use of a caddie. Players are entitled to employ a caddie and use a golf cart with the only restriction being that of the cart limitation outlined in the “Golf Carts” section of this notice.
The use of a cart is permitted but not included in your entry fee. Each starting time is limited to one cart per twosome or two carts per threesome.
Proper golf attire is required at all times by players, caddies and spectators. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Shirts must have a collar and be tucked in. Jeans of all kinds, cargo pants/shorts, tee shirts and tank tops are prohibited. Hats must be worn in a traditional manner.
Rule 4.3a is modified in this way: During a round, a player must not wear shoes with traditional spikes (that is, spikes having single or multiple points designed to penetrate deeply into the surface of the ground (regardless of whether made of metal, ceramic, plastic, or other materials)) or spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course.
Driver Heads & Golf Balls:
Local Rule G-1 and G-3 are in effect. A player must not make a stroke with a clubhead or golf ball that is not on the current listing of the USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads or List of Conforming Golf Balls. Penalty for breach of this Rule is disqualification.
Withdrawals & Refunds:
Refund less $25.00 administrative fee if requested prior to entry deadline. 50% refund after entry deadline and seven days prior to the event. Within seven days prior to the event there will be no refund. Any player who has competed in a qualifying round will not be issued a refund if they are forced to withdraw from the championship proper.
Withdrawal During Competition and/or No Card Policy:
All players are expected to complete the competition which they start. Acceptable reasons for withdrawal during a competition are physical injury, illness, or an emergency. Poor play is not an acceptable reason for withdrawal. A player who withdraws without an acceptable reason or without notifying CSGA personnel will be subject to suspension from future CSGA competitions. If a player is aware of a possibility of withdrawal (e.g. injury) he should notify the CSGA as soon as possible. All players who start a round must return a scorecard personally to CSGA staff or a CSGA official even if they are officially withdrawing. Players who withdraw also must sign and attest that the hole by hole scores are correct for the fellow-competitor's scorecard they were keeping and return that card to the fellow-competitor or another marker in the group. Players who do not follow this policy will be subject to suspension from future CSGA competitions.
Conditions of Entry:
By submitting an entry for any CSGA-administered competition, the contestant understands that his/her participation is at the sole discretion of the CSGA. A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the CSGA staff or Competitions Committee at any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the CSGA or the “Spirit of the Game” are grounds for such removal and suspension from future CSGA-administered competitions. These include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property
2) Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing
3) Offensive or unbecoming language
4) Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of CSGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants
5) Potential endangerment of others
6) Conduct deemed unbecoming
The Rules of Golf as adopted by the United States Golf Association govern play. This information sheet, the CSGA Hard Card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf. Local Rules of the host course do not apply.
