EXEMPTION CATEGORIES

1) CT Amateur and CT Open Champions of the past 10 years, (2009-2018)

1A) CT Amateur and/or CT Open Champions prior to 2001

2) Russell C. Palmer Cup Champions of the past 5 years (2015-2019)

3) New England Amateur Champions of the past 5 years (2014-2018)

4) Champions of the following CSGA events in 2017: Junior Amateur, Mid-Amateur, Public Links, Senior Amateur & Senior Match Play

5) Players that advanced to the Round of 16 in the 2018 Connecticut Amateur

6) The top 5 amateurs in the 2018 Connecticut Open

7) Players who successfully qualified for the following Championships: 2019 US Open Sectionals & 2018 US Amateur

8) The top 20 players in the 2018 Dick Tettelbach Player of the Year Rankings

9) The top 5 players in the 2018 Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year Rankings

10) Fox Hopyard is allotted 2 exemptions to be used at their discretion

About the CSGA

The CSGA functions as an extension of the USGA and provides stewardship for amateur golf in Connecticut. Founded in 1899, it is the country’s oldest state golf association and conducts over 50 Championships, Qualifiers and One-Day Tournaments throughout the year, in addition to administering handicaps for over 40,000 members and 181 member clubs. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the CSGA supports a variety of golf organizations within Connecticut, including the Connecticut Women’s Golf Association, Southern New England Women’s Golf Association, The First Tee, the Connecticut PGA, the Connecticut Association of Golf Course Superintendents and the CSGA Scholarship Fund in honor of Widdy Neale.
