EXEMPTION CATEGORIES

1) CT Mid-Amateur Champions of the past 10 years. (2007-2016)

2) Champions in the past 5 years of the following events:  CT Open (2013-2017), Palmer Cup (2013-2017), Amateur (2013-2017), Sr. Amateur (2013-2017), Sr. Match Play (2013-2017) and Public Links (2013-2017).

3) New England Amateur Champions of the past 5 years (2013-2017)

4) Player who successfully qualified for the following Championships: 2016 & 2017 US Mid-Amateur, 2017 US Open & 2017 US Amateur.

5) The top 20 players in the 2016 Dick Tettelbach Player of the Year Rankings.

6) The top 15 finishers and ties in the 2016 CT Mid-Amateur Championship.

7) Top 5 Amateurs in the 2017 CT Open.

8) 2017 Senior Match Play  Runner-Up

9) 2017 Connecticut Amateur Runner-Up

10) The top 5 players in the 2016 Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year Rankings.

11) Club Champion at Black Hall Club

 

* Exempt Players MUST meet eligibility criteria & apply by the closing deadline.

** * Exempt players in category 1 & 1a will remain eligible regardless of residency or membership in the CSGA for the duration of their exemption

About the CSGA

The CSGA functions as an extension of the USGA and provides stewardship for amateur golf in Connecticut. Founded in 1899, it is the country’s oldest state golf association and conducts over 50 Championships, Qualifiers and One-Day Tournaments throughout the year, in addition to administering handicaps for over 40,000 members and 181 member clubs. As a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization, the CSGA supports a variety of golf organizations within Connecticut, including the Connecticut Women’s Golf Association, Southern New England Women’s Golf Association, The First Tee, the Connecticut PGA, and the CSGA Scholarship Fund in honor of Widdy Neale.
