EXEMPTION CATEGORIES

1) Champions of the past five years of the CT Senior Amateur (2012-2016) and the CT Senior Match Play Champions (2013-2017).

2) Players who completed the 2nd round of the 2016 CT Sr. Amateur Championship.

3) As of the closing date, the top 20 players in the Dick Siderowf Senior Player of the Year point rankings.

4) New England Senior Amateur Champions of the past five years (2013-2017)

5) All past CT Amateur, Open, Palmer Cup and/or Mid Amateur Champions.

6) 2017 Senior Match Play Semifinalists.

7) Senior Club Champion at Fairview Farm Golf Course

8) 2017 Super Senior Gross Champion

9) Player who successfully qualified for the following Championships: 2016 & 2017 US Senior Amateur, 2016 US Mid-Amateur, 2017 US Open, & 2017 US Amateur.

 

* Exempt Players MUST meet eligibility criteria & apply by the closing deadline.

** * Exempt players in category 1 & 1a will remain eligible regardless of residency or membership in the CSGA for the duration of their exemption

About the CSGA

The CSGA functions as an extension of the USGA and provides stewardship for amateur golf in Connecticut. Founded in 1899, it is the country’s oldest state golf association and conducts over 50 Championships, Qualifiers and One-Day Tournaments throughout the year, in addition to administering handicaps for over 40,000 members and 181 member clubs. As a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization, the CSGA supports a variety of golf organizations within Connecticut, including the Connecticut Women’s Golf Association, Southern New England Women’s Golf Association, The First Tee, the Connecticut PGA, and the CSGA Scholarship Fund in honor of Widdy Neale.
